How to format a decimal column in a grid

What is the best way to format a decimal column in a grid? I used clientformat as follow but its not working... ClientFormat = String.Format("{0:$#,##0.00}", System.Convert.ToDecimal(".Increase")) Thanks, Nasir

  you could do it in a js func by using ClientFormatFunc http://demo.aspnetawesome.com/GridDemo/CustomFormat or do it on the server side, using Map put the formatted string in a new property (you can see Map being used in most our grid demos) Map o => new { MyNewProp = string.Format("...", o.Increase), ... and use ClientFormat = ".MyNewProp"

  • there is no special formatting rules, there's only the dot .ModelProperty, and for the rest you can use the methods mentioned above, you could however create function that will handle the format that you wanted, something like ClientFormatFunc = "myformat('$#,##0.00')", you'll just have to write the js that does that yourself
