How to call remote method to do custom validation for a column of Grid inline editing

I have a grid like this: @(Html.Awe().Grid("IndividualCommunicationPhoneGrid") .Mod(o => o.InlineEdit(Url.Action("Create"), Url.Action("Edit"))) .Url(Url.Action("GetGridData", "Contact")) .Columns( new Column { Bind = "CommunicationData", Header = "Phone No" } .Mod(o => o.Inline(Html.Awe().TextBox("CommunicationData"))), ...)) I need to enforce a validation rule for the `CommunicationData` column textbox This is how I do validation now: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(CommunicationModel commInput) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { ............. } return Json(ModelState.GetErrorsInline()); } My property is inside communication model which I want to validate using remote validation.

  all validation for the grid inline editing is remote, all you have to do is add your validation check and call `ModelState.AddModelError("Prop", "Validation message")` example: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Create(CommunicationModel input) { if (input.CommunicationData != "test") ModelState.AddModelError("CommunicationData ", "only [test] value allowed here"); if (ModelState.IsValid) { ... } return Json(ModelState.GetErrorsInline()); }
