  well actually that's how our web-forms demo is built, the mvc 5 nuget package is referenced (and it is required by Omu.AwesomeWebForms), and mvc is used for the ajax requests (mainly DataController) you can see the asp.net web-forms demo here: https://demowf.aspnetawesome.com and you can [https://www.aspnetawesome.com/Download/WebFormsDemoApp download it]
