Retrieving both key and value on submit from ajax dropdown inside inline edit grid

I currently have an ajax dropdown inside a Grid that is populated with a {key: IndicatorID, value: ServiceTypeId} list of JSON objects. My question is: when I submit the grid to the controller, how do I access the ServiceTypeId text which is what is actually displayed in the dropdown or in other words how do I get this value to be included in the data that is submitted to the controller? Right now I am only able to access the key, which is IndicatorID, on submit (which is because of course I am explicitly defining this property to be included in the data submitted to the controller through AjaxDropdown("IndicatorID")). The action "GetIndicatorsIdWithServiceTypeId" is used to actually get and return the JSON. The ExampleSave function is in the controller that handles the submitting. • any reason you're not using the `DropdownList` instead of the `AjaxDropdown`?

  Your should get the selected content by key on the server. If you absolutely must get it that way you could use js, to handle `change` event on the row and add a hidden input in the grid row that will have that value. Any html input tag inside the row `<input name="SomeName" value="val1" />` will have its value sent to the server, so `ExampleVm.SomeName` will get `val1`
